 » Wall pushes

Stand facing a wall. Keeping the body straight and the feet stationary, fall forward and catch yourself with your hands on the wall. Push your body back to an upright position. Repeat.

Variations

Random access pushes – Each time the hands hit the wall, say a random word.

Link pushes – When the hands hit the wall the first time, say a random word. Each following time, say a word related to the word previously spoken.

Periphery pushes – When the hands hit the wall the first time, say a theme word. Each following time, say a word related to the theme word.

Notes

  • This is a good way to combine physical and mental warm-ups.
  • Keep the body straight at all times. Don’t bend at the hips.
  • To increase the effort required, stand farther away from the wall.
