 » Repeat and amplify

Make an offer. Repeat the offer with a point of view. Continue repeating it with a progressively stronger point of view. Eventually, something new will show up. When it does, explore that.

Variations

Ping pong – Player A makes an offer. Player B repeats the offer with a point of view. Player A repeats the offer making the point of view even stronger. The back-and-forth amplification process continues until something new is discovered.

Notes

  • This exercise is a good way to practice amplifying to a discovery instead of invention.
  • Amplify the tiny changes that happen with each repetition.
  • Don’t make a change happen. Discover it.
  • A dialed-back version of this tool can be used in performance.
