Side numbers

Two players stand opposite each other and maintain eye contact. Player A tells a story. Player B periodically holds up a hand to either side showing one to five fingers. Without looking at the hand, Player A says the number of fingers showing, then continues with the story.

Notes

  • The story can be from real life or improvised.
  • The numbers do not have to be incorporated into the story.
  • Hold the hands at different locations in Player A’s peripheral vision.
  • It doesn’t matter if Player A gets the numbers wrong.
  • This exercise strengthens players’ soft focus.
