Anticipate the need

One of the most magical ways to make spects feel like you’re on the same page is to do a form of advance follow, giving spects what they need before they even have the opportunity to ask.

Julie (spect) and Ed are hunting in the woods. Suddenly, Julie motions for Ed to be quiet. Before she can even tell him why, Ed hands Julie her rifle, so she can take down the 8-point buck that she has just spied in the distance.
