Thumbs and pinkies


Make fists with both hands. Extend the pinkie of one hand and the thumb of the other. Then, simultaneously switch which hand has the pinkie and which has the thumb extended. Keep switching back and forth.

Variations

Thumbs and pointers – Instead of thumbs and pinkies, alternate extending thumbs and index fingers.

Crossed arms – Do the exercise with arms crossed in front of the body.

Alternating crossed arms – Do the exercise while crossing and uncrossing the arms in front of the body, alternating which arm is in front.

Notes

  • This exercise helps build the practice the art of being relaxed while struggling. Some claim it also helps neuroplasticity.
  • Keep the face and body relaxed, the breath deep and even.
