Initiate

making an offer without external support or prompting

When you initiate, you give the spect something to respond to. This helps at the beginning of a story, when spects are more comfortable responding than initiating.

However, you eventually want spects to do more than respond. You also want them initiating offers themselves. This happens when spects feel confident. You build their confidence by responding to their offers with strokes. This makes them feel good about their contributions and strengthens their confidence.

Eventually, spects become confident enough to initiate offers all on their own. The more they initiate, the more invested they become. In this way spects become true co-creators of the story.
