 » Simple facts

A player assumes a character and is asked about simple details in their life. The player answers, beginning to speak as soon as the question has been asked.

Notes

  • Questions should be about empirical facts. E.g., “Where did you grow up?” and “What’s your father’s profession?
  • Don’t ask for opinions. E.g., “What’s your favorite color?”
  • Answers should be given without pausing to think.
  • Answers should sound normal, without needing to be justified. E.g., If the player says they have 35 children, that sounds odd without some kind of justification.
  • This exercise is like a relaxed version of Hot seat, focusing on simple facts.
