 » Explore and advance

A player engages in a simple activity. When “Explore” is called out, the action being done is explored more deeply. When “Advance” is called, the action of the activity progresses. Exploring finds more details in the present moment, while advancing moves to a new action of the activity.

Variations

Duo – Two players engage in exploring and advancing an activity.

Notes

  • Be strict about staying on the same action when exploring. (E.g., If the action is “washing a plate,” don’t dry the plate, keep washing it.
  • Some ways to explore the moment without advancing to a new action are to encounter resistance or have an emotional change relevant to the activity.
