Character journal

Close your eyes and imagine a day in the life of your character. Then, write a first-person journal entry in your character’s personal journal or diary. In addition to writing about the events of the day, include your character’s hopes, fears, and feelings. Repeat the process once a day for a week.

Notes

  • Write from your character’s point of view.
  • Journal entries don’t have to be consecutive days in your character’s life.
  • Try going to places that are significant to your character to do your writing.
  • You can also write about real-life experiences from the “Living in character “exercise.
