Interactive theatre

an interactive performance presented in a theatrical setting

A common place to present an interactive performance is a theatre where the audience is seated, observing the action on a stage.

Important considerations when doing interactive theatre are:

  • Providing safe and easy access for spects to get to the stage
  • Keeping spects faces visible to the audience
  • Making sure that spects can be heard by the audience

Here are some advantages of presenting interactive performances in theatres:

  • They have support infrastructure such as parking, box office, restrooms, dressing rooms, a stage, and seating.
  • Many people can see a show at once which increases revenue.
  • Outside variables that interfere with the show are minimal.
  • There are standard ways to address issues of sound and lighting.
