Digital puppeteering offers the potent ability to inhabit a character that is far outside of your own “type,” whether in gender, age, race, or other defining demographic element.  With online access to information supporting the illusion that the virtual puppeteer is a subject matter expert, and the eventual programmatic capacity to modify voice and translate languages into believable vernacular, this kind of system is becoming a powerful tool permitting us to step outside of our physical identities and across cultural divides.  How we use such virtual identifies is as important as how we use the identities we consider to be our own.  Choose wisely.
