Olivia was first introduced to interactive and applied theater while studying acting at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Over the next 10 years, she has used art and theatre as a forms of community activism, as therapeutic and educational tools, and as ways to foster joy and playfulness. Since returning to her hometown of Austin, TX, Olivia has used applied interactive theatre everywhere from kindergarten classrooms to the county jail. By day, she has worked in schools with Creative Action as a bilingual performer, director, and educator. By night, she has performed in several interactive performances as a proud company member at the Vortex. In the spaces in between, she has worked with Conspire Theatre’s ensemble of previously-incarcerated women. In her copious amounts of free time, she enjoys practicing yoga, cooking, traveling, dancing, eating cheese, and taking naps.
