Matson Duncan began his career as an actor, singer and songwriter. In 2001, he devoted his life to inspiring a new generation of artists at the forefront of cultural change. Ever since, he has traveled the country, challenging partners everywhere “to edify and enrich the spirit of community and culture through their life and work,” a vision that Duncan calls the Cultural Leadership Agreement.
A co-founder of arts and education nonprofit, Artists for Community Transformation International, Duncan spent 10 years with ACT, mobilizing and advocating for creatives in Los Angeles, Nashville, New York, and Austin. He also created and produced the Cultural Leadership Summit @ Sundance for eight years, an annual retreat for 20 select filmmakers.
In 2007, Matson relocated to Austin to participate in the Create Austin cultural master plan and served to charter the Austin Creative Alliance. Most recently, he opened his own consulting business, Enspirit Consulting.
